As the Occupy Wall Street movement moves north of the border, CBCNews.ca commenters are weighing in en masse.

Nearly 1800 comments have surfaced on the story, with a flurry of opinions on either side.

There are those who support the demonstrations and believes this is a cause that transcends age and class.

  • "This is truly how democracy works in a peaceful society," writes Rickieroo.
  • "It's about time working people woke up to the fact that the banksters and profiteers have ruined this nation because of their wreckless greed. This is the change that was needed," believes xciter.
  • "Why do so many people think that these protestors are not part of the workforce, or they should have voted or they aren't working hard enough? The issue is much bigger than that. Our entire system is corrupt, everybody knows it, and it's about bloody time we take a stand against it," shares ricky champion.
  • "I support capitalism - but not the greed and corruption we see today. Good job people," says TheBrit.
  • "Make fun of them if you want, but there is the making of a movement in the group. The message may be be muddy, but the overall dicussion is headed in the same direction. The diversity of the message is really just a function of just how wide spread problems are for everyday people," writes dweisger.

And there are others who disagree with their tactics.

  • "I'm going to go down and hold a sign saying "Stop violence." I have no leader, no direction, no expected outcome, I'm just against violence and someone should do something. It's as affective as saying 'corporations suck' or 'I hate greed,'" offers NoelKing.
  • "This is an absolute joke, Canada has one of the strongest economies in the world, construction crews have a massive shortage of skilled labour and these jobless idiots go around blaming the government asking for handouts while chanting emotional vagaries. This isn't the middle east, you won't be murdered in the middle of the night by armed militias for protesting, you will only anger people by delaying their commute home. Get over yourselves and get a job," says Chuck-time.
  • "A few hundred 'occupiers' in a few cities hardly constitutes a 'revolution.' Fact is, nobody beyond the protesters themselves really takes this protest seriously for one simple reason: a lack of a unified message," shares Derrick Huber.

We also asked the CBCNews.ca community if the Occupy Wall street message is relevant in Canada and of the nearly 4,000 who voted, nearly 70 per cent said yes.

What do you think of the demonstrations? Are you attending?
